Dance the night away

When I first started stamping, I used to buy grab bags of stamps, which was a cheaper way to get images, but I ended up with a real mishmash of images.  This particular image comes from that time, and while I never would have chosen it by myself, it is a fun one to pull out occasionally.
The image is stamped using Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk ink. (I had a heck of a time getting the image stamped, and after several tries finally resorted to a trick I learned long ago, which is put the paper on a hard surface, ink the stamp and put it down, then use your foot to apply pressure. It works every time.)
The image is colored in pencils, with antique linen Distress ink sponged around the edges.
The layout is from Kraftin Kimmie and incorporates a bunch of snippets from a Cosmos Cricket pack.

  1. What a fun card and image! I tried the grab bag thing too back in the day because I love surprises, but usually they weren't good surprises. THen I hooked in with a lady who was stocking a small store. Some companies require your order to be X amount of dollars and stamps bought in multiples. When she needed help making the minimum she'd contact us to fill in the gaps at her cost. It was good and bad in a way. Good because cheap stamps but bad because it encouraged you to buy any little thing and not be picky about it. You can hoard up fast that way.

  2. Oh Sandy, this is a fun image! And I got the giggles at the foot pressure technique! I've done that with punches as well before now :)

    Have a lovely weekend!
